Get the Support You Need (Finally) for Anything Money Related.

There are no dumb questions.

Life is busy: Family, Career, Money, Sleep. Too much in too few hours. You’re ready for a change and to get some help.

A relationship with a financial planner can maximize your time and your opportunities: your finances, your future, and ultimately help your fulfillment and well being.

We join you on the path, no matter how small or big the decision. We help clarify what you truly want, your core desires, to make the path clear. We help you take advantage of your career and financial opportunities.

We Hear You…

We want certainty about the future, our company’s share price, our lives, family, our career path. Fear is ever present. And while we can’t predict the future, we can still act: we can mitigate risks, take advantage of our opportunities.

We can’t guarantee certainty, but we can help you make a robust plan that gives peace of mind no matter what storms of life may come.

Are you in your thirties-ish, with way more money and benefits than you know what to do with?

You have stock options - or equity compensation of any kind - and are overwhelmed? Where to even begin?

Maybe you’ve been in-house for a while and want to downshift to something with a bit more time freedom, but don’t know if you can afford to?

Or are you about to become the GC, or receive a large chunk of money and do NOT want to mess it up?

What else can you expect?

Meet the Team

  • Spent my life up through my twenties in politics, working in campaigns coast to coast – I even resided in Las Vegas for a spell. At some point, my old political party went a little cuckoo (understatement). I just couldn’t do it any longer.

During this period I was dabbling in financial planning. And I remembered details from childhood, how I was mesmerized by the latest stock prices in the newspaper, or couldn’t quite comprehend how taxes worked (“Who’s FICA. Why is he getting all my money?”).

Doing meaningful work mattered to me and financial planning became my path. After starting in the business years ago, I stumbled into a few clients who called themselves “general counsels” or “in-house attorneys” and loved them. They were smart, good people, who were trying to see around corners for their clients, just like I was trying to do for them. It was fun to work together. Thus, Vox was born!

    Other tidbits? Oh gosh…

I’m an Okie by birth and temperament: when a tornado is coming at your house, it’s not that crazy to go out back and watch it. Promise. I earned my Eagle Scout in my teens (ask me about my Eagle Project). Went to a small liberal arts college out East (Patrick Henry College). I met my lovely wife, Anne, in our high school years but we didn’t start dating until after college. I saw her on facebook and thought “oh, she’s still cute. We should talk.” We did talk, and married in 2015. She’s still just as cute :) She is the best medical speech pathologist around.

A year into our marriage, we welcomed a little rescue dog into our lives – Lollie Belle Spencer. I wasn’t raised with small dogs so I can’t say this about all of them, but she is my kind of little dog. How can such a tiny animal hold such sway over your heart?

I am a yuuuuuge fan of OU football. I live out of Field Notes (ask me about this too! Their National Park Series is a work of art in your pocket). Words matter to me. I love a good turn of phrase and wish I could write half as well as those I enjoy. Non-fiction is by far more fun to read than fiction, in my opinion, but I’m also a numbers and taxes dude, so sip on that one slowly. I am endlessly fascinated by these creatures called human beings and all the ways they show themselves: in standup comedy, distilling bourbon, or in a sonnet. I believe deeply that Love is our origin and our destination. I am grateful to exist. And if our paths ever cross, I look forward to meeting your existence too :)

  • Lollie spent many hours (years really) at Jordan’s right hand/foot, and occasionally fell asleep in his arms (shhhhh…we don’t talk about those times). As he pursued the CFP® designation, she thought “heck, why not me too?” and chased after the CFK9 (Certified Financial Puppers). She considered the financial therapy dog life and it just didn’t suit her —she’s a one person kinda dog, specifically the 39% chihuahua part. So, when Jordan asked if clients could pet her as they talk about their lives and futures, she shot back “HEY Mister, what kind of dog do you think I am?” THAT was when he decided to work virtually. That and the pandemic. And mobile clients. Anyway, she’s definitely a love-ya-from-a-distance kind of CFK9, but she sends good vibes as much as she can.

She loves warm blankets, movies that permit cuddling (all movies), and the opportunity to lick up your nose. Quality time is definitely her love language. And don’t get her started on fetch (“what is the point when I can sit in your lap?”). She Silvered in Cuddling at the 2016 Small Dog Olympics, but doesn’t like to talk about it. And don’t you dare go near one of her hoomans as they sleep or she will kut you. Like, seriously, stay back.

When you’re on a Zoom with Jordan, just ask for an introduction. She’s usually not far :)
